the aloha attitude

there's something about living near a beach that i've always enjoyed. everybody does their own thing and nobody hassles anybody about it. you could be a guy in a turban on roller blades, playing a guitar strapped to an amp around your waist and nobody says, "whoa, freak." instead they say, "dude, that's cool," and then go on doing their own crazy thing, like building dragon sand castles on the boardwalk with incense sticks for nose smoke. until recently i didn't know this vibe had a name: the aloha attitude. the aloha attitude means that everybody gets their own space and respect. isn't that a nice way to live?
